Right Decisions/Right Now
Right Decisions, Right Now: Be Tobacco Free is a school-based youth tobacco prevention program that focuses on decision making skills. It was created by Lifetime Learning Systems, Inc. and is funded by Reynolds American, Inc. Each summer, the Crosby Scholars Program sponsors a four-day summer camp to encourage rising 7th-10th grade students to remain tobacco free for life. Students participate in an interactive experience that helps them to make good decisions. On the last day of camp, representatives from the W-S Police Department and the Forsyth County Health Department address health and legal issues related to tobacco use.
We offer a morning session from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and an afternoon session from 12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Scholars may register to attend either the morning session or the afternoon session. Lunch will be provided at both sessions.
There are 35 spaces available for each session. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Scholars register through their Crosby Scholars Student Portal. Due to space limitations, Crosby Scholars may attend the Right Decisions, Right Now camp only once during their participation in the Crosby Scholars Program.
The dates for the Right Decision, Right Now Summer Camps, held at Goodwill Industries Inc. located at 2701 University Parkway in Winston-Salem, are announced in the spring.
Students who complete all four days of the summer camp and complete the Crosby Scholars Program through their senior year will be eligible to apply for a Right Decisions, Right Now scholarship. Information about the scholarship will be available in the spring of the student’s senior year of high school.
