The application for the 2020-2021 school year will open on August 1, 2020 for students in grades 6-10.
In conjunction with The SciTech Institute (a community enrichment program in science, math, and technology) – Crosby Scholars is offering a STEM workshop for middle school Crosby Scholars.
Seventh grade students will use coding to program their Sphero robots to perform instructed tasks. We will also use borrowed robots to explore the effectiveness of different materials on the construction of masks.
*Students are encouraged to bring their own devices (computer, tablet, smart phone) which will connect to Goodwill’s free wi-fi.
Date: Thursday, April 8th (no school for WSFCS students)
Time: 2:30pm – 5:00pm Check in begins at 2:15pm. Students cannot arrive prior to 2:15pm.
Location: Self Reliance Hall – Goodwill Industries Building (2701 University Parkway, Winston-Salem, 27105)
Each student will be provided a kit with the necessary tools. More details about drop-off and pick-up will be sent the week prior to the event. Workshops will be held virtually and in-person.
