Celebrating the Class of 2021!
Senior Honors Gala at The Drive
As we came to the close of an unprecedented school year for Crosby Scholars, we were thrilled to honor our graduates and their families for their hard work and dedication. While our Senior Gala was reimagined, on May 19 at The Drive at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds we safely gathered in celebration of the achievements of more than 1,000 Crosby Scholars seniors in our 28th graduating class.
It was a wonderful event with over 140 Crosby Scholars in attendance with their family and friends! A few highlights:
- Board Chairman Jason Wenker got the celebration started by encouraging attendees to honk when anyone said the Class of 2021 throughout the night - What (loud) fun it was!
- All attendees received swag bags, refreshments, and a free movie, and Crosby Scholars gave away four Off to College gift baskets valued at over $100 each.
- Superintendent Tricia McManus presented the Michael Nachman Scholar Award to Troy Boland of Atkins Academic and Technology High School. Troy is enrolling at the United States Naval Academy.
- President and CEO Mona Lovett celebrated our 401 Executive Director Award of Distinction recipients, Crosby Scholars graduates who have been in the program from 6th-12th grade without interruption, and shared encouraging words for all Crosby Scholars to remember in their new adventures!
A Congratulations to the Class of 2021!
Kudos and best wishes from WXII 12 Chief Meteorologist Lanie Pope, Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines, ESPN SportsCenter's Jay Harris, and more!
Class of 2021 Awards and Scholarship Recipients
The Crosby Scholars Community Partnership congratulates the Class of 2021 Awards and Scholarship recipients! These young leaders attend a public high school in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and completed at least three years in the Crosby Scholars Program—and some as many as seven years. They make school a priority; volunteer in their community, and exhibit strong leadership qualities they gained by attending Crosby Scholars academies.
