About the Opera:
The wealthy old bachelor, Don Pasquale, has decided to take a wife so that he may produce an heir, cutting his insubordinate nephew, Ernesto, out of his inheritance. Ernesto is devastated to think of a life without Norina, a beautiful, widow in the village. Enter Dr. Malatesta – whose name translates to mean “headache.” That is exactly what he will be for Pasquale, as he helps the couple come up with a plan to marry with Ernesto’s inheritance!
If you like The Barber of Seville, you’ll enjoy Don Pasquale.
The Piedmont Opera advises that content is similar to a PG motion picture rating approp
riate for students in Middle School. The opera is sung in Italian. The full synopsis can be viewed here to help you make the best decision for your Crosby Scholar.

A drawing will be held for a $250 scholarship awarded to up to FOUR junior or senior Crosby Scholars who attend the performance. Crosby Scholars may enter the drawing before the performance or during in intermission by checking in with a Crosby Scholars staff member in the lobby. This scholarship must be applied toward the winner’s college education, and the recipient must graduate from the Crosby Scholars Program.
Please Note: While Crosby Scholars staff will be in attendance, we regret that we are unable to be responsible for supervising students before, during, or after the performance. Families should make appropriate arrangements for supervision and transportation of their Crosby Scholars for this event. Please contact Hayley Sink, Marketing and Engagement Officer, at hsink@crosbyscholars.org to request a chaperone ticket if the cost is a barrier to your Crosby Scholar participating.
