7th and 8th grade STEM workshop – July 18

In conjunction with The SciTech Institute (a community enrichment program in science, math, and technology) – Crosby Scholars is offering a STEM workshop for middle school Crosby Scholars. Limited spots are available and are open to middle school Crosby Scholars.

Workshops will be organized by grade and last 3 hours with multiple activities per class.   The math and science topics that may be covered are as follows:

Seventh graders will focus on Dental Forensics, Human DNA, and Data and Analysis.

Eighth graders will focus on Chemistry, Viruses & Diseases, and Interpreting Data.

Date:  Thursday, July 18th

Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm  Check in begins at 8:45am. Students cannot arrive prior to 8:30am.

Location: Albert H. Anderson Conference Center on the campus of Winston-Salem State University

Limited spots are available and will be filled on a first come first served basis.  This is an optional enrichment activity. Students will not receive Academy credit for attending.
