Celebrating Crosby Scholars' 31st Graduating Class!
Senior Honors Celebration at The Winston-Salem Dash
On April 22nd, at the Winston-Salem Dash, we gathered in celebration of the achievements of Crosby Scholars seniors in our 31st graduating class. It was a wonderful evening to celebrate the hard work and dedication of all our graduates and their families. Our 1,001 seniors who are graduating from high school are among 10,000 students in the Crosby Scholars Program!
It was a celebration to remember with over 1000 guests, including Crosby Scholars seniors, family, and friends! A few highlights:
- Vice Board Chair Chris Fox got the celebration started! Mr. Fox noted that The Class of 2024 is joining an Alumni network of over 15,000 strong! Crosby Scholars Class of 2024 is heading off to 77 different colleges, and counting, including military branches, trade schools and directly into the workforce. The Class of 2024 also completed 20,530 hours of community service since 2022!
- All attendees received a ballpark dinner and dessert, and the Crosby Scholars Program gave away five Off to College gift baskets valued at over $250 each. MK Events Photo Booth, run by a Crosby Alum, provided entertainment and fun for our seniors and their families to capture the special memories of this event!
- Each Scholar in attendance was recognized on stage and received an honor cord for completing the Crosby Scholars Program. The Awards and Recognition Program also recognized several scholarship recipients, with $28,950 being awarded to the Class of 2024 to date.
- Superintendent Tricia McManus joined by Mona W. Lovett, President and CEO, and Barbara Masi, Director of Advising and Strategic Integration, recognized the Top 30 Seniors of the Crosby Scholars Class of 2024.
- Mrs. Lovett celebrated our 345 Executive Director Award of Distinction recipients, Crosby Scholars graduates who have been in the program from 6th-12th grade without interruption, and then shared encouraging words for all Crosby Scholars to remember in their new adventures!
Class of 2024 Awards and Scholarship Recipients
The Crosby Scholars Community Partnership congratulates the Class of 2024 Awards and Scholarship recipients! These young leaders attend a public high school in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and completed at least three years in the Crosby Scholars Program-and some as many as seven years. They make school a priority; volunteer in their community, and exhibit strong leadership qualities they gained by attending Crosby Scholars academies.
It is the vision of the Crosby Scholars Program to ensure that every public-school student in Forsyth County has the opportunity to attend college. Over the past 31 years we have awarded 11.2 million dollars to Crosby Scholars graduates. Last year, we awarded $296,290 in Scholarships and over $852,000 in Last Dollar Grants.
