Welcome to the Crosby Scholars Senior Program! Scholars who complete the requirements of the junior year (Junior Academy, Think Like a Senior, Community Service, and avoid OSS) become Crosby Scholars seniors.
We are here to help! Senior year is a journey of seasons that is exciting and intense, yet also exhilarating! Crosby Scholars is here to guide seniors through the challenges and celebrations.
Beginning spring of the junior year and continuing throughout senior year, students meet one-on-one with their Crosby Scholars Advisor.
As active participants in the Senior Program, Scholars must comply with the Partnership Agreement and complete the Senior Program requirements. Scholars who complete the Senior Program receive a special designation on their transcript and in their school's graduation program. They are honored at the Crosby Scholars Senior Celebration in the spring as well as at their high school awards day. Seniors who complete the Program are given the opportunity to apply for Crosby Scholarships and Last Dollar Grant funding.
Class of 2027 Senior Expectations:
To graduate high school as a Crosby Scholar, you are expected to complete the following checklist. Your Crosby Scholars Advisor will guide you!
- Complete 1 Senior Academy by December 1, 2026
- Complete 2 hours of Community Service and Submit Form by January 31, 2027^
- Complete the College Fair/College Visit requirement by December 1, 2026^
- Meet with Crosby Scholars Advisor to complete Conference Notes
- Submit College List to Crosby Advisor
- Submit at least 1 college application*
- Complete the Residency Determination Service (RDS)*
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)*
- Submit a Last Dollar Grant Application or at least 1 scholarship application*
^ College Fair/College Visit may be completed in the sophomore, junior or senior years. Juniors who complete 4 or more hours of service also complete their senior year service requirement.
* If your post-secondary pathway is not applying to a 2-year or 4-year school, your Crosby Scholars Advisor can provide alternative ways to fulfill these expectations.
And continue to:
- Fulfill terms of the Partnership Agreement, including avoiding out-of-school suspension and agreeing to remain drug-free
- Maintain enrollment in and graduate from a Forsyth County public school
- Complete the Program with a cumulative weighted GPA of 2.0 or higher to be eligible to apply for Last Dollar Grant funding
Scholars must meet these 6 requirements in red to graduate high school as a Crosby Scholar.
Advisor Program
Each senior will be assigned a Crosby Advisor who will work with them beginning in the spring of junior year and continuing throughout their senior year. This may be a Crosby Scholars Staff Advisor or students may choose a Student-Selected Advisor. Click here to view Frequently Asked Questions about selecting an Advisor.

Weekly Emails
Crosby Scholars Senior Weekly Emails
In addition to logging in to CrosbyConnect regularly, our senior weekly emails include important dates and resources to guide you throughout your senior year. Seniors receive our special video-format emails featuring a college campus each week (with a chance to earn a prize!) and a simplified list resources, reminders, and links to assist you that week. The first email of each month will be posted below.

Senior Academy
All class of 2027 seniors must complete at least one (1) Senior Academy by December 1, 2026.
Senior Academies begin during the junior year spring and are offered until December of the senior year. Each Senior Academy is a different topic designed to help you on your journey to college or creating your post-secondary plans. Topics include college admissions, essay writing, financial aid, test prep, and career exploration + personal growth. See our Senior Academy Pathways for a sample of the topics you can expect.

College Fair/Visit
College Fair/College Visit Requirement
Crosby Scholars must visit four (4) colleges or attend one (1) college fair and submit the College Fair/Visit form in CrosbyConnect by December 1 of their senior year.
Students can complete this requirement during their sophomore year, junior year, or senior year.
You must visit four (4) colleges through any combination of the following methods:
- In-person or virtual campus visits.
- In-person or virtual college fair (interact with 4 colleges and gather information)

Community Service
Community Service | Due 01/31/2027
Each year, Crosby Scholars are required to complete at least two (2) hours of Community Service and submit the Community Service form in CrosbyConnect. Community Service hours for seniors are due Januaru 31, 2027. Community service is volunteering that benefits the community. Often, community service is performed with a non-profit organization such as a school, Crosby Scholars, or other similar organizations. It can also be fulfilled through volunteer activities with churches, scouts, school clubs, civic organizations, or community engagement. See service ideas and oppprtunities on our website.Scholars who completed four (4) or more hours of Community Service in the junior year fulfilled their senior year service requirement. Last Dollar Grant
The Crosby Scholars Last Dollar Grant (LDG) application information will be available in CrosbyConnect in the spring of your Senior year. ***Last Dollar Grants are NOT awarded automatically to all seniors in the Crosby Scholars Program. Students must first apply for Last Dollar Grant.***
To be eligible to apply for Crosby Scholars Last Dollar Grant, a student must:
- Complete all requirements of the Crosby Scholars Program
- Must have a cumulative weighted GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Must demonstrate Financial Need as determined by the FAFSA
- Must be enrolling in a Full-Time Degree Seeking Program
The Crosby Scholars Last Dollar Grant is need-based financial aid. A Scholar must apply for financial aid by submitting a FAFSA to be considered for a Last Dollar Grant. (If you are not eligible to complete a FAFSA, please contact our office directly for instructions on how to apply.) Students must demonstrate not only financial need but also remaining need after the school of choice has awarded aid. To determine the eligibility, the Crosby Scholars staff completes a need analysis form on each Scholar individually.
Three supporting documents must be uploaded to the application. These documents include:
- a copy of the students letter of admission from the institution he/she will attend,
- a copy of the financial aid award letter from the institution he/she will attend, and
- a copy of the entire SAR - Student Aid Report
A student who does not graduate from high school with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, may apply once his/her college cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher.

Partnership Agreements
Scholars agree to the Student Partnership Agreement when they enroll and Parents/Guardians agree to the Parent Partnership Agreement at the time of enrollment or when the student attends their first Crosby Scholars Academy. Being a Crosby Scholar includes being a positive member of your school community and avoiding out-of-school suspension.
