Visiting your possible future home for your next educational journey is an exciting time as you consider where to apply for your collegiate career. However, during this year and impacts from campus closures, we have shifted our college tours to a virtual platform. Join us throughout the day on September 30 on social media and webinar, to learn more about UNC Charlotte! From 10AM-2PM we will takeover our Instagram (@crosbyscholars) covering a variety of topics on college life at Guilford. To encourage you to participate, we will award credit for the College Fair/Visit requirement if you attend 4 out of the 5 Live College Panels between September and December. You will need to register for each Live Panel and attend at least 4 to receive credit.

Decoding the ACT: Why Your Score Matters (WEBINAR) for Juniors

Juniors in North Carolina will take the ACT Plus Writing test on February 25 during school, for FREE. Register to participate in the Decoding the ACT: Why Your Score Matters webinar to learn how the practice test can help you prepare for the ACT, to hear general information about the exam, and to learn how colleges use your scores in making admission decisions.  Parents are encouraged to watch the webinar with their students.

The WEBINAR will be held on Tuesday, January 28 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Registration in your student portal is required.  You will receive a link and login instructions via email prior to the start of the webinar. If you have questions after 5:00 p.m. on the evening of the webinar, please call Crosby’s office cell phone at 336-671-5494.

This webinar requires the following:

  • Internet Connection
  • Computer
  • Email address to log in to the presentation
  • Speakers

The ACT is an entrance exam used by many colleges as one criterion in deciding whom to admit.  The test has four sections with multiple-choice questions:  Reading, Math, Science, and English, and includes an optional 40-minute writing test.  Students typically take the ACT for the first time during the fall or spring of the junior year of high school.  Juniors in North Carolina have the privilege of sitting for the test during the school day at their home high school, and Crosby Scholars wants to help them take full advantage of this opportunity.
