DESCRIPTION:The Crosby Scholars junior year begins with a Junior Academy to help prepare you for the college application process\, which begins sooner than you think!  Attending one (1) Junior Academy in the fall is a requirement for all Juniors in the Program.  Scholars must arrive on time and stay the entire time to participate in the session and earn Junior Academy credit- arriving late or leaving early means the Scholar will not earn credit for attending. \nDuring Junior Academy\, you will learn about the Crosby Scholars Program requirements & expectations as well as how the Program supports you through the college admission & financial aid processes\, including your enrollment decision. You may be thinking it is too early to start preparing for this process\, but we assure you\, it is never too early to begin planning for your senior year & beyond! \nLocation: Goodwill Building\, Self-Reliance Hall \n\n2701 University Parkway\, Winston Salem\, NC 27105\nParking is available in the Goodwill lot (please avoid spaces labeled for Retail Customers) & the LJVM lot.\nFollow the Crosby Scholars signs into the building.\n\nRegistration: Registration is required in the Crosby Scholars Student Portal\, & is limited\, so please sign up early. \n\nBefore submitting your registration:  Make sure to answer the questions that follow the registration information — including your t-shirt size for your FREE Crosby Scholars Class of 2024 t-shirt! \n\nParents/guardians:  Due to space limitations\, we are not able to accommodate parents/guardians during our in person Junior Academies at Goodwill. \nQuestions? Please contact seniorprogram@crosbyscholars.org.

Understanding the format of the test and how to approach the questions boosts confidence and allows for a calm\, measured approach on test day. Begin with attending the FREE test prep sessions\, take these opportunities seriously\, and appreciate the benefits of your efforts. \nThe ACT Boot Camp II:  Math and Science \nFebruary 19\, 2020 (Early Release Day) from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.  \nat the Goodwill Industries Building\, 2701 University Parkway\, W-S  \nCheck-in begins at 2:00 p.m. \nSeating is limited to the first 150 Junior Crosby Scholars!  Register your attendance through your Crosby Scholars Student Portal. \nThere will be an English and Reading session offered on February 10th. You must register separately to attend that session. This event is only for students. \nTaking the ACT is more than just showing up on test day with pencils and a calculator and hoping for the best. It is a process best begun with formal preparation that includes reviewing test-taking strategies and completing a practice exam with those tips in hand. Preparing well can produce score results that mean taking fewer standardized tests\, saving money\, time\, and energy for other aspects of the college admission process. \nThese boot camps are hosted by CapEd Test Prep.
