Juniors

11th Grade

Welcome to the Crosby Scholars Junior +Senior Program, where our focus narrows significantly onto the details of the college admission process.  In the fall, Juniors will attend their Junior Academy. The focus of Junior Academy is learning how to explore colleges and what Scholars should focus on their Junior year.  Juniors are advised to attend a college fair, begin campus visits at schools that interest them, and discuss their plans with their school counselor.

In the spring, Juniors will attend the Think Like a Senior session and begin meeting with their Crosby Scholars Advisor. The focus of TLS is getting ahead in the college application process. One-to-one Advising meetings begin in the spring of Junior year and continue throughout Senior year. If you have questions about the Advising Program, email the Advising team at advising@crosbyscholars.org.

Scholars who completed the Program in 10th grade are automatically enrolled in the program for their Junior year. There is not an application for the junior year. Students must enroll in the Program by the beginning of their sophomore year of high school. (Exceptions may be made for newly enrolled students in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. Contact the Crosby Scholars CEO and President by October 1 of the junior year for more information.)

Scholars will learn about and complete tasks in the spring that will help them be ahead for the fall of senior year.

This Program is a Junior requirement: All Crosby Scholars Juniors are required to attend 1 Think Like a Senior event.

Parents:  Given the significant role they play in the college journey, parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the session along with their student; however, parents cannot participate and earn TLS credit on a student’s behalf.
