Alumni Spotlight
Alexandra M. Thomas Arrington
I participated in Crosby Scholars during 2000 and 2001 at West Forsyth High School and went on to attend UNC-Chapel Hill (class of '05) as a Crosby Scholar.
I currently work at UNC-Charlotte, and in reflecting on my high school and college experience, as well as events that came together seeing me to the place where I am now, Crosby Scholars comes to mind.
I was at a job interview recently and was asked about my decision to go to UNC-Chapel Hill, and I recalled, then, the significant impact Crosby Scholars had on my transition from high school to college. I went on my first college visit to UNC with Crosby Scholars and am ever grateful for the invaluable assistance through Saturday Academy and with financial aid (from learning how to complete FAFSA forms to receiving Crosby scholarship money during my undergraduate tenure). I wish more students had the opportunity to take advantage of such great services.
Thank you for all you do (and have done already!).
The Crosby Scholars Program has graduated more than 3,800 Crosby Scholars since the program began in 1992. While our program begins locally here in Forsyth County, our alumni become involved in communities throughout North Carolina, the United States and the world. Our alumni are a powerful reminder of how the Crosby Scholars Program impacts our community.
